If you are getting frustrated that you've upgraded to Windows 10 and you noticed that your optical disc drives are not showing up and can't figure out how to access them, or maybe they are showing up but not working when you put in a disc, this video may be for you! I show four methods in this video. There are two methods to try for each associated problem. I hope one of these methods work for you. Personally my disc drives were not showing up at all and method #2, where I uninstalled the device and restarted my computer, worked for me. Hopefully one of these methods will fix your problem. Good luck! here's that code you can copy/paste: reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001

  1. The second option worked perfectly for me. i realized my cd/dvd player wasn't working after trying both cd's and dvds. Thank you for this video. It really saved me some money.
  2. it's not gonna work on i follow ehat you did :(
  3. Look, when I had this problem I had to do research to fix it. I did a lot of reading and even though I found what worked I thought I'd post a video of the other alternative ways because I know not every computer is the same. Now, for those of you this does not work for please keep looking. I had only discovered 4 ways (2 on the left of the screen and two more on the right of the screen) while I was researching. There may be other ways to fix your particular issue and maybe they've made a change to the O.S. Since I did this but I don't know. And YES there is no audio because I don't have a microphone...
  4. SPEAK YOU PIECE OF SHIT SPEAK. I CAME TO A VIDEO BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL LIKE READING ALL THAT SHIT FFS
  5. It's too blurry to follow. Why don't people talk anymore? UGH!
  6. I'm going to try the registry edit when I get home. Had to replace my new OEM LG purchase, with an Asus today. The LG (From Microcenter) had explanations on their support page, that this drive had no Windows 10 compatible driver, and that they had no plans to create one. I'm building my mother an AIO HTPC. Also, this is a fresh, brand new product key Windows 10 install/build. So no existing Win8.1 drivers on the system before an in place upgrade.
  7. worked thanks bro
    :)

  11. Hi KenVahn,
After upgraded only CD's seems to be working and no DVD.
I have tried all the following methods with no luck:
1.uninstalling the two programs (TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator, TOSHIBA Disc Creator).
2.Chkdsk is a system tool which verifies the file system integrity and fixes system errors. Here is the steps:
    Press Windows+X.
    Click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    Type the command Chkdsk /f/r.
    Hit Enter.
3.Right-click the Start button > Command Prompt (Admin)
Then, at the command prompt type the following ( you can copy and paste) and press "Enter":
    reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001
    Restart the computer.
and a few more like creating new key in HKLM etc.
I am a patient with neck injury and need to DVD to be working to get the scans to view. Please help.
    Thanks in advance

(after guide ofc) but it didnt work and i almost didnt start up my pc after that :D ... but you helped me u know like it was not there.. and since i know the mistake going to the register i was little scared going to command promp but thankfully the method 2 worked perfectly :D so thank you again :)
  15. Thank you soo much it took me forever to find a fix man now i can finally install my new games, Thx again :D
  16. None of these methods worked for me. Tried them all. Next.....? :-(
  17. My DVD writer showing blank on every disc while I'm putting any disc in it what to do tell me
  18. You saved me re re rechecking my BIOS data and SATA connections. Stupid windows 10. (although aside from that it's great :). ATA unistalling method worked!
  19. Bad bad BAD Microsoft and you too. I have tried everything and it still doesn't work. W10 didn't come with all the stuff to read dvds and even when i bought a new computer with W10 it still didn't come with all the stuff needed to watch a dvd. So I bought Windows Media Player and it now it works. It's shame on everyone for not telling everyone that W10 doesn't come with everything to play a dvd. So now I have paid twice for it. BAD BAD BAD
  20. Good morning. Can you please tell me in wich part of the command are you specify the drive name?
