Hi, Just want to say THANKS for your clear step by step how to delete Cache files. I followed your instructions and got my updates working!!!!
After I have re-installed my Windows 8.1 OS I can't seem to get the Windows Update working again, and have tried many things. So is it possible to install Windows 10 on it to fix the problem, as I heard you can get a Windows 10 for free if you have Windows 8.1? And I only have the OEM Windows 8.1 key that came with the laptop.

So can I get some advice on this? Much thanks in advance.

Why from last 15 days im not getting any updates in win 10? Whenever i check it shows ur windows is upto date..but before i was getting updates in 2 days atleast fr windows defender. Bt why not now?

Richard, Thank you very much. I have this issue for a few weeks and I tried so many ways from advise found from the interne; none of them work until I tried your method. Your method works and now my PC is able to update. Believe or not, there were over 200 updates and they have all been updated. Thanks to you.

Hi Rich..ive written to you before, I was finally able to update my win7 updater...but it has again refused to update no matter how many youtube clip advices I watch..ive left the updater running for longer than 24 hours but its stopped updating about 4 months ago..would this explain why all my streaming videos are choppy, despite video card driver updates ? My computer overall has been extremely sluggish, its takes for ever for pages to load..and yes Ive run the different browsers and spyware/virus/malware checkers. The only thing I can deduce it to is that I have been unable to update my windows7 for 4 months..
ok so i tried like 100 different things to get windows 7 updates to work and nothing then i found out the easiest way if you have a illegal copy of windows :) go into your uninstall programs look for the menu turn windows features on or off... once you have gone in you will see a list of features you can turn on or off... look through carefully and in the sub menus till you see WINDOWS NT FRAMEWORK (MAKE SURE THAT AND THE SUB MENU IS ALL CHECKED OFF) THIS INCLUDES WINDOWS COMMUNICATION FOUNDATION.... restart your pc and go to your updates and click update then in 5 -20 minutes you will have your updates... enjoy
